5 Benefits of Coconut water you may not know about



All right, straight up this is not 'yet another article' on the known benefits of coconut water such as boosts hydration, weight loss and it being rich in x amount of nutrients. The small humble coconut that nature has bestowed on us lucky asians where the perfect conditions for real great-tasting coconuts flourish all year round. We are here to discuss about the lesser known benefits of this amazing fruit. 

  1. Healthy Skin 
    Our human bodies need water to keep ourselves hydrated, keeping our body organs functioning healthily. Similar to this, coconut water not only provides similar benefits to H2O but also contains a dose of skin enhancing vitamin C, about 10 mg per 100grams. Vitamin C supports collagen production which reduces the appearence of fine lines or wrinkles.
  2. Compatible with Human Blood
    Since it is isotonic to human plasma, coconut water can be used in extreme emergencies to quickly rehydrate the human body if administered intravenously. It is not uncommon for the drink to be used in poorer, third-world countries to save human lives.
  3. Hangover Remedy
    Never knew this myself, I personally always just drink hot tea but hey! New remedy that not only helps me when I overestimated my limits at the bar, but is also a refreshing cool drink. Why not? It will also replace those essential electrolytes that exit the body if you experience bouts of frequent urination and vomiting.

Now, having said that, there are no hard and fast rules on drinking it daily but I'd still moderate it a little. The best advise is to steer clear of those brands with preservatives or additives if you do.
